After two days of talking in circles with each other in an Artist’s studio in Manly, Brian and I have agreed on our vision for the company.
We took our lead from Simon Sinek and developed the following statement to help keep us on track and moving in the same direction.
VUM Company Vision.
Why do we do what we do?
We believe Small Business owners should be empowered with the knowledge they need to use the Internet to build the business they desire.
How do we do it (values and guiding principles)?
In order to realise this vision our activities are guided by the following principles:
- Question everything: we constantly ask ourselves why we are doing what we are doing and if there is a better way to do it. This helps us find innovative solutions for ourselves and our customers.
- Eat your own dog food: we develop solutions that we use in our own businesses, therefore we can confidently deliver those solutions to our customers.
- Surround yourself with greatness: we look to align ourselves with people who are smarter and more successful than us as they can teach us and make us better at what we do. This is true for our staff, affiliates and partners.
- Keep it lean: we aim to keep our organisational structure lean and free from unnecessary overheads. This helps us provide great solutions at fair price points and remain profitable without outside investors.
- Act autonomously: we believe people perform best when given the freedom to do just that. We aim to train our staff well and then trust them to do a great job
What is it we do?
We provide software solutions to help WordPress web developers attain a position in the marketplace whereby they can work with the clients they choose, on projects that excite them for the fees they deserve; because life is too short to do otherwise. These solutions include training materials, WordPress white labelling, client-centric online marketing tools and business development tools to help our customers win more jobs, streamline their development process and provide an awesome experience for their clients.
Feel free to give us some feedback and let us know if you ever see us stray from this vision.
