He also talks about the VideoPress, the commercial video hosting service offered by Automattic and what it’s like beiong part of a distributed workforce with colleagues all over the world.

Thoroughly enjoyed the interview, thanks for sharing. Its nice to hear about word-press from a developer.
It’s always great to hear an interview with guys from Automattic . Especially some Aussies.
It was great to have a talk with you, Troy!
The Automatic Updates plugin we briefly chatted about is available here:

If your viewers have questions or feedback about that or anything else we spoke about, I’m happy to have a chat with them! 🙂
Great interview Troy and Gary! It’s always awesome to see two Aussies talking WordPress 🙂
I’ve been using Gary’s Automatic Update plugin on around 15 sites now and it’s been fantastic. He’s been great at listening to feedback and updating the plugin accordingly. I’m actually going to start installing it on the 60ish clients sites we have on our VPS as of next week so I think it’s pretty safe to say that it’s a solid plugin 🙂 I’ve been wanting automatic updates in WordPress for years so I was pretty damn pleased that Gary coded this and I’m looking forward to seeing it in WordPress core one day in the future! (Hopefully sooner rather than later 🙂 )
Thanks for mentioning http://www.wpaustralia.org/ as well Gary! It’s only early days for the site cause it’s only been around for 2 months but it’s going great guns so far.
I’m looking forward to more interviews Troy!
Thanks for the feedback Bronson and I’m glad you’re enjoying the interviews as much as I enjoy making them.
Thanks for stopping by Gary. It was great having you in the studio.
